How much does a wedding video cost?
Our wedding videos can be tailored to suit individual tastes, preferences and budgets.
To find out about the different wedding video packages that we offer go to the Packages section.
Our wedding videos offer excellent value for money. If the total cost of your wedding is £12000 then we can provide you with a well-crafted wedding video of the highest quality for just 5% of this amount!
When do you start videoing?
With all of our wedding packages we start videoing at least 1 hour before the wedding service with the exterior and surroundings of the venue. You may also choose to add an Optional Extra that requires us to start earlier, e.g. Home Visit.
How long do you stay?
With all of our wedding packages we stay until the end of the wedding breakfast after the speeches have been completed. You may also choose to add an Optional Extra that requires us to stay longer, e.g. Extra Coverage or Evening Celebrations.
How many people will carry out the work?
With all of our wedding packages we use one camera operator to carry out the work. You may also choose to add an Optional Extra that requires a second camera operator.
Who will carry out the work?
Ian Rostron is the owner and senior camera operator and he will carry out the work. We will never risk our reputation by passing the work on to other companies.
How many cameras do you use?
With all of our wedding packages we use one broadcast quality camera. You may also choose to add an Optional Extra that requires a second camera.
Are you discreet?
Tell us which style of videoing you would prefer.
Most clients opt for a candid style where the camera operator works naturally and discreetly, capturing the day as it unfolds. Others may prefer a more radical approach with staged sequences and events.
Clients who choose the candid style often comment afterwards that they were completely unaware that their wedding was being videoed.
Do you need to set up any extra equipment?
In churches the camera operator will work from a fixed position and be completely independent and self-sufficient. It will not be necessary to set up lights, cables or any other extra equipment.
In other venues the camera operator may seek permission to set up some lights or a radio microphone for best results.
Do you interfere with proceedings in any way?
During the wedding service and speeches the camera operator will work quietly from a fixed position. It will not be necessary to change batteries or tapes or to tamper with any equipment.
Apart from the presence of the camera operator you will be completely unaware that you are being videoed.
Do you video the wedding service?
It is your responsibility to seek permission for us to video the wedding service. This is particularly important for church weddings.
Churches usually charge to have the wedding service videoed and sometimes require that both parties complete a permission form.
They may also require that a Wedding Video Recording Licence be purchased.
Where will the camera operator be positioned during the wedding service?
The position of the camera operator has to be agreed with the person conducting the wedding service.
A good position for the camera operator is at the front, on the same side as the bridegroom. Another good position is at the back, in the aisle or on a balcony.
The camera operator will have to work within the confines of the environment and use discretion and experience on the day.
Are you able to pickup the wedding vows?
We use professional, high specification shotgun and radio microphones which enable us to pickup the wedding vows, even from the back of a large church, providing they are spoken clearly and not whispered.
Do we need to provide you with a full meal?
There is no need for you to provide us with a full meal but you may wish to do so if guests have been unable to attend.
Otherwise, we kindly request that refreshments be provided at the same time guests sit down for the wedding breakfast as this will be one of the few times during the day when there will be no videoing. This enables us to stay at the venue and ensures that we are always available should the need arise.
Where will the camera operator be positioned during the speeches?
For the standard top table a good position for the camera operator is at the front and to one side.
The camera operator will have to work within the confines of the environment and use discretion and experience on the day.
Do you video the first dance?
We will video the first dance if it can be arranged to take place directly after the wedding breakfast.
Otherwise you may choose to add an Optional Extra that requires us to stay longer, e.g. Extra Coverage or Evening Celebrations.
Can we help with the editing?
We discourage clients from seeking to help with the editing as it would slow down the production process significantly.
What will the duration of the wedding video be?
The duration of the wedding video will vary from wedding to wedding and will usually be 1-2 hrs. It will also be dependent on the duration of the wedding service and speeches.
How much footage do you remove during editing?
Wastage is kept to a minimum and so we only remove a relatively small amount of footage during editing. Most of this is necessary in order to trim the shots.
Do you remove any embarrassing moments?
Embarrassing moments can occur and can also be quite entertaining!
If any are captured on video we will ask you what you want us to do with them. Otherwise we will err on the side of caution and remove them.
You may also inform us of any special videoing or editing requests during the day.
When will you complete the wedding video?
We aim to complete the wedding video within 4-5 weeks.
How many copies will we receive?
If you order the deluxe wedding package you will receive 3 copies. If you order any of the other packages you will receive 1 copy. You may order further copies as an Optional Extra.
Can we order more copies at a later date?
We permanently archive our work so you can always order more copies at a later date.
To find out how to contact us go to the Contact section.
Can we order copies for our relatives who live in the USA?
Most of our clients now choose to have their weddings authored to DVD. Our DVDs are not region encoded and so this aspect of compatibility is not restricted. However, the USA does use a different TV standard to the UK.
Fortunately the majority of modern TV sets and DVD players are capable of processing hybrid TV standards and so DVDs from the UK can usually be viewed using up to date equipment from the USA.
Our DVDs can also be viewed on PCs equipped with a DVD-R drive and a software DVD player, such as WinDVD from InterVideo. They can even be viewed on games consoles such as the PlayStation from Sony or the Xbox from Microsoft.
If all else fails we can always convert the TV standards of your wedding video. We would certainly have to do this for any VHS tape copies.
